How the calculator works

1

We find who is near you

We only show plasma companies with a center within driving distance. Some companies only operate in a handful of states, so there is no point comparing pay you cannot get.

2

We use the closest data we have

Your nearest center first, then 50 miles, 100 miles, your state, and neighboring states (within 250 miles, from at least two different centers), and finally the national median. We always show which one we used.

3

We match your weight

Weight-based companies pay more to heavier donors. When local reports for your exact bracket are thin, we adjust using that company’s national weight pattern, and we never show a heavier donor less pay than a lighter one.

Frequently asked questions

How much do you get paid for donating plasma?+

Across 866 approved donor reports, returning donors typically earn $46 for their first donation of the week and $70 for the second. New donors usually earn a first-month bonus of $600 or more spread across their first several visits. Your exact pay depends on the company, your location, and your weight.

Why does my weight change how much I get paid?+

The FDA sets the maximum plasma volume you can give based on body weight. Heavier donors give more plasma per visit, so many companies (BioLife, CSL Plasma, Octapharma, Grifols and others) pay more in higher weight brackets. Some companies, like KEDPlasma, pay a flat rate regardless of weight.

Why is the second donation of the week worth more?+

Plasma companies want you to come back twice a week, which is the maximum the FDA allows. To encourage it, the second visit in the same week almost always pays more than the first, often $15 to $30 more.

Where does this calculator get its numbers?+

Every estimate comes from pay reports submitted by real donors on DiscoverPlasma and approved by our team. We look at your nearest center first, then widen to 50 miles, 100 miles, your state, neighboring states, and finally the national average, and we always tell you which one we used and how recent the data is.

How accurate is the plasma pay estimate?+

Plasma companies change their pay schedules often and run short promotions, so treat the result as a well-informed estimate rather than a guarantee. Estimates based on your nearest center or centers within 50 miles are the most reliable. Always confirm current rates in the company app or at the front desk.

Which plasma company has the highest new donor bonus?+

Among companies with plenty of reports, BioLife Plasma currently shows the highest typical new donor bonus at about $675. Bonuses vary a lot by location, so run the calculator to compare the companies near you.
